ACCO is mandated to coordinate and deliver integrated humanitarian, peacebuilding, evangelism support, and development interventions across conflict-affected states in South Sudan, in alignment with the Five Marks of Mission:
| Mark | Description | ACCO’s Implementation |
|---|---|---|
| 1st Mark | To proclaim the Good News of the Kingdom of Heaven | ACCO promotes and supports Church-led evangelism, rather than conducting evangelism independently |
| 2nd Mark | To teach, baptize, and nurture new believers | ACCO equips local churches to carry out teaching, baptism, and discipleship as their primary calling |
| 3rd Mark | To respond to human need during natural and man-made calamities | ACCO delivers integrated humanitarian care and emergency relief |
| 4th Mark | To transform unjust structures of society, to challenge violence of every kind and pursue peace and reconciliation | ACCO facilitates peacebuilding and reconciliation within churches and communities |
| 5th Mark | To safeguard the integrity of creation and sustain the life of the earth | ACCO integrates environmental stewardship and climate resilience into all programs |
ACCO is further mandated to advocate for the rights, dignity, and inclusion of orphans, persons with disabilities, women, and other marginalized groups. ACCO operates under the Safeguarding Policies of the Anglican Communion and the Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) framework, maintaining zero tolerance for any form of abuse, exploitation, harassment, or neglect.
