ACCO responds to the protracted humanitarian crisis caused by civil conflicts since 2011, particularly in Jonglei, Unity, Upper Nile, Lakes, Abyei, and Eastern Equatoria States. These conflicts have led to:
- Massive displacement of over 2 million internally displaced people
- Destruction of property and infrastructure
- Chronic hunger affecting 7.7 million people
- Widespread poverty affecting orphaned children, persons with disabilities, and the elderly
ACCO serves as the practical and spiritual arm of the Church’s mission, working alongside dioceses, parishes, the Mothers’ Union, the Anglican Communion Fund, and global Anglican partners to bring hope, healing, stability, and the transforming message of Jesus Christ to the most vulnerable.
Critically, ACCO does not replace or bypass the local church. ACCO exists to promote and support Church-led evangelism, empowering local Anglican congregations to fulfill their calling to teach, baptize, and make disciples.
