The Board of Directors provides strategic oversight and governance for ACCO South Sudan: it sets policy, ensures accountability, and guides strategic direction. The Board is distinct from the Executive Management Team and does not manage day-to-day operations.
Archbishop Moses Anur Ayom
Chairman, Board of Directors
A senior leader within the Anglican Communion Internal Province of South Sudan, Archbishop Ayom brings decades of spiritual leadership, pastoral experience, and deep commitment to peace and reconciliation.
Role: Leads the Board; presides over meetings; final signatory for major policies.
Sewit Mihreteab Berhane
Deputy Chairlady, Board of Directors
Brings leadership and governance expertise to the Board; also serves as Country Director (CEO), ensuring close alignment between governance and implementation.
Role: Acts as Chair in the Chairman’s absence; leads the Governance & Safeguarding sub-committee.
Robel Berhe Mahrai
Treasurer
Chief financial officer responsible for financial management, budgeting, accounting, and financial reporting for the Board of Directors.
David Malith Maluk
Secretary, Board of Directors
Ensures proper documentation and governance procedures; also serves as Head of Programs in an operational capacity.
Role: Takes official minutes; ensures Board resolutions are documented and filed.
Revd. Joseph Mabior Ayual
Member
Provides spiritual and theological oversight, with extensive experience in church leadership across South Sudan; advises on Church-led evangelism.
Pastor John Majok Alier
Member
Brings pastoral and community-level perspective, with years of experience serving local congregations.
Bishop Zachariah Manyok Biar
Member
Brings expertise in finance, audit, and legal matters, ensuring robust financial oversight and accountability.
Peter Mading Deng
Member
Brings extensive expertise in humanitarian and development programming, informing strategic decisions on program design and impact measurement.
Malang Makuei
Member
Brings gender and disability inclusion expertise, ensuring ACCO’s programs are inclusive and accessible to all.
Executive Leadership Team
Sewit Mihreteab Berhane
Country Director (CEO)
Responsible for overall strategic leadership, operational management, and representation of the organization. Primary liaison between the Executive Management Team and the Board; represents ACCO to government authorities, the Anglican Communion, UN agencies, and partners.
David Malith Maluk
Head of Programs
Senior programmatic leader responsible for design, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of all projects, with focus on gender equality, disability inclusion, conflict sensitivity, and environmental stewardship.
Robel Berhe Mahrai
Head of Finance
Oversees financial operations, budgeting, cash flow, payroll, and reporting; ensures compliance with government regulations and donor requirements; manages the audit process.
Hasa Becky
Liaison and Partnership Officer
Primary point of contact for external partners: the Anglican Communion Fund, Lambeth Partnership, UN agencies, government bodies, and other NGOs.

Organizational Structure
ACCO operates under a constituted seven-member Governing Panel (Board of Directors). The Country Director serves as chief executive officer, supported by the Head of Programs and department heads across nine program departments. A Safeguarding & PSEA Focal Person sits within the Country Director’s office with an independent reporting line to the Board.
